New Product

Now in black and white.

For something a bit different: long-sleeves in black and white for the ladies. From Continental Clothing, so they're high-quality and warm enough for when it's too cold for t-shirts.

Bringing the basic back in style, see them here.

New Competition

I hate valentine's day

For those of you feeling romantic, we've developed the lovely www.valentine.spreadshirt.co.uk with a sweet thong giveaway for (+ £30) big spenders. But for those of you feeling a bit more cynical, we have the perfect thing: The I Hate Valentine's Day competition. Inspired by break-ups, no-shows, half-eaten-boxes-of-chocolates.

Really, V-Day is overrated and it's time to take it down a notch. We've been exorcising the demons with a little number we call: www.antivalentine.spreadshirt.co.uk. And we invite you to join the bash. Enter in your own bitter slogan, and you can win a shirt. One slogan a day will get printed up on a shirt and given away to the lucky broken-hearted. The top entry gets something that will never break your heart or leave you standing out alone in the cold (we're thinking chocolate, a full box). To enter, send an email with your slogan to winner@spreadshirt.net with subject line: anti-valentine.

Idea of the Month

Blogging

It's not just that everyone's doing it, but it's that you can get more exposure for your site and your shop with it. The requirements: set up an account, link up to a few blogrings, and update regularly.

We're working on it ourselves, with the brand-new blog for shop partners and other Spreadshirt fans here. Check it out, and let us know if you get started with your own (we'll link you!).

Idea of the Month II

Flickr

The fine contributors of all the photographs you see here. We at Spreadshirt are fans, we're slowly building our own group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/spreadshirt). But we really like the whole web 2.0, online community, your submissions = the content feel to the whole project.

Not to mention pure addictive-ness (this fair newsletter writer is loath to admit how much “research time“ was spent in collecting images). Some cool kids who've already integrated:

+ blog: http://everythingandnothing.typepad.com
+ open solaris: a fan blog.
+ a flickr page.
+ the london stands campaign to raise money after the london bombings.

Shop of the Month: focusfodder

Accentuating the positive?

LibDems is the hangout spot for the liberal democrat blogs of Britian. In case you thought you were alone, currently over 50 bloggers are in the arena. With topics ranging from: Brit monarchy, Canadian elections, building bridges and, sometimes, even fighting hard (as Simon from Inner West posted "Ambition is a reality of politics, and a good thing. We can’t always be nice and fluffy. We might actually want to be successful." I like his style. Speaking of which, you can wear your LibDem thoughts via this lovely focusFodder shop.

Topical Shops:

Got some statements of your own?

We're building for the future. And the future is: topicality. We're creating a special site for topical shirts. If you have one, send over an email to me, Sarah, at sfc@spreadshirt.net with your shop ID. And then the site will showcase and link to shops with shirts taking on politics, culture, recent events and, of course, celebrity. Even better: have photos of yourself in one of your shirts? People respond to photos (see flickr, above). So send it over to the same address, and get even more enticing shop coverage.

Open Logo

What the people are saying.

So what does the new logo look like? We haven't decided yet. But we are still accepting any ideas, suggestions and comments.

The discussion continues here. And we pay for your thoughts: with prizes valued up to €10,000!

Things to Do in Your Spare Time:

How to get stuff

1. Check out our partner hellomagazine.com and enter to win a 12-month subscription to free shirts. Yep, 1 customised shirt delivered to your door, every month, for a year! Go here to sign up.

2. Still the same old Ipod deal: go do the poll (again, if need be!) and get in to (perhaps) win the IPOD nano and (for sure) get a 3 GBP coupon. Do it here.

3. Gimmicky, but fun. There's tons of freebie sites all over the web. What's it to you? They just have links to the people offering the free stuff. Scan through the links, find something you like, and offer it to your customers. For example, free food - free crisps here. And free The Godfather calling cards. Or free shaving gear from King of Shaves.
